Becca di Gay, very impressive if viewed from north, a little less showy but nonetheless very rocky from south. There is however a route that allows to climb on skis from the side of Piemonte(south). The starting point is the lake of Teleccio (1.917m) in the valley of Piantonetto, with a carpark near its dam.

The south- or Piemontside of the Becca di Gay is a face of split rock wich is not very safe to climb, especially in dry years when there is a lot of rockfall. This mountain stands proudly above the glacier Ghiacciaio del Gran Crou. It can be seen all the way from Cogne.

Ora il sentiero comincia a salire; al bivio successivo si tralasciano le indicazioni per i bivacchi Borghi e Martinotti e si seguono quelle per i bivacchi Pol e Grappein.
